Anthony Muchiri
Tony is nature’s best friend and born to be the voice of the environment. At 21 years of age, Tony nurtures his conviction through his current undergraduate degree in Sustainable Tourism and Hospitality Management at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology. He secured an aggressive mean grade of a “B” of 63 points in his KCSE exams at Thika High school. His degree program has opened doors for him to work as a naturalist guide at the Dedan Kimathi University Conservancy, a conference photographer at the Sustainable Tourism and Travel Agenda (STTA) conference, a pastry chef, conference service staff and housekeeper at the Blue Springs Hotel and the Treetops Outspan Hotel. Tony currently works at the Beads Safaris Collection as a sustainable tourism researcher and online tourism marketing intern. Relative to his course, Tony holds various certificates from the Ecotourism Kenya (EK) Leadership and Mentorship Program, Sustainable Tourism and Travel Agenda (STTA), and Dedan Kimathi University. Tony is a vocal student leader and motivator at his university. He is affiliated actively in Non-governmental societies such as Ecotourism Kenya, Tourism Students Association of Kenya, the Kenya Red Cross, the Kids’ Friend Connect, and AIESEC Kenya. At his leisure time, you’ll find him taking a hike to explore the hilly, rocky terrains, mountain biking, listening to music, writing poetry, posting motivational messages on social media and working online. Tony believes in the conservation of the natural beauty of the environment and the indigenous culture through creating awareness to the stakeholders of tourism and by benefiting the local communities.
