This year 2018, being the Year of Birds we will be hosting for the first time in Kenya, the Bird and Wildlife Photo Festival, to celebrate the Endangered Species Day (19th May 2018). The event will be held at the Painted Dog in Nanyuki through talks, presentations, workshops and safaris to the nearby conservancies in Laikipia and an open air photography exhibition day that aims at sharing the beauty of wildlife in nature around us using photography. The theme of the festival is: The role of conservation photography in creating awareness of wildlife conservation in Kenya.

We invite you to attend the three (3) day festival (17th, 18th, and 19th May 2018) in Nanyuki that aims at raising awareness and sharing the beauty of wildlife and nature around us, using photography.

The festival will feature the following:

  1. Morning game drives to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Solio Ranch, Ol Jogi Conservancy and Lewa Conservancy from 6:00 am to 11:00 am that will be led by prominent wildlife photographers in Kenya.

  2. Presentations, Workshops and Talks, from 11:00 am to 5:00 that will cover introduction to wildlife photography, macro photography, and how you may use your images to advocate for wildlife conservation.

  3. Open Endangered Wildlife Photo Exhibition on the 19th May 2018-Endangered Species Day, to exhibit send Tony email expressing interest to tony@tonywild.co.ke

  4. Free Game drive for children with disabilities in Nanyuki to visit Ol Pejeta Conservancy on 19th May 2018.

  5. Bird Watching Marathon from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm on the 17th and 19th May 2018.

The festival is open to everybody who is passionate about wildlife conservation and the art of photography.
